Well, today, we worked on Egyptian art, and a lot of the work had to do with simply getting the kids to follow through on tasks.
This is cool. A lot of the kids are just not going to be capable of physical or mental tasks past about, oh, about the age of 7.
This is realism. anyway, art is big part of that. Some of the kids' stuff was awesome, I think, but I can't post it here.
Here's my work, as I had to contribute as well. It's in colored pencil.
I wonder as I look at your drawing, how much conscious thought you put into your selection of figures to surround the central figure? Were they just drawn as you searched your memory for those symbols and things that were important in Egyptian art, or did you think about what you would draw before you raised your pencil the first time, or, as you began to drawm did the ideas and images come racing to your mind, and your hand tried to keep up?
ReplyDeleteI am incapable of drawing all but the most basic things, and then they are not drawn well. I am just curious about how you see things, or particularly, saw this image.
I used my vague memory of hieroglyphics to draw imagery. An owl, a pyramid, etc.
ReplyDeleteOne kid, whose work I wish I could post, got sort of off-track and surrounded his Egyptian figure with totally cool drawings of planes, cars, and Army tanks. It was too cool. I loved it.
